"Ironwork gate from the Cathedral of Puy, France, 12th century. During the Middle Age and the Renaissance, master smiths forged ironwork on the model of illuminated manuscripts and calligraphic ornaments."

"The first sanctuary at Le Puy was built in 430 on a druidic site near a dolmen. Pilgrims still visit this site seeking to be healed. The Cathedral is a famous stop on the road to St. James of Compostelle. This door invites the pilgrim to step in and experience a moment of serenity and peace."
